I love to shop in Orlando around the Holidays as there is so much to do but
with the economy the way it is where can you stay on a budget? I found the
Sheraton Vistana Resort located right off Interstate 4 and Hwy 535, within
minutes to Downtown Disney and outlet shopping malls.
You can expect condo suites with large bedrooms and full working kitchens.
You can drastically cut down on cost by cooking your own meals. There’s a
huge jetted bathtub in the master bedroom so you can relax after doing Disney!
In this gated community everything is right there for you, including a small
supermarket style shop called, “The Market Place” where you can get a stick of
butter or a meal to go.
Upon arrival guests receive an “Experience Guide” which includes a map of the
resort showing the location of the many pools, restaurants and a list of daily
guest activities. These activities vary daily and include things such as building
a bug catcher, bingo, make your own tie dye t-shirt, belly dancing lessons, pool
party with a DJ, scuba lessons, tennis clinic, fitness classes, Simon says, Texas
Hold ‘Em night, a poolside movie plus more.
Kids can enjoy the
Main Activity Center
and Kids Mall where
there are over a
dozen tennis courts, a
miniature golf course,
a large selection of
videos to rent and
three pools. If this
is not enough there
is also: basketball,
volleyball, bike
rentals, playgrounds,
game room, outdoor
whirlpools and
barbecue grilles.
The coolest thing for
kids is the
X-TREMEPLAY areathe
ultimate gaming
experience. Open
daily with various
pricing plans, this
place has all the latest
video games and kids
can have fun ‘jamming’
to Rock Band on
a huge projection
screen. It is located
in the same building as the
restaurants, Zimmie’s and
the Cascades Bar & Grill
so parents can have some
adult time together knowing
their kids are happy and
safe.
While at Sheraton Vistana
Resort you can pick up your
tickets to Disney and head
over to Hollywood Studios
which opened a new ride
this year, Toy Story Mania!
4-D. You sit in a large
moving tram that takes you
through some neon graphics
and targets. Guests aim at
virtual targets to increase
their score which shows
up right in front of you.
Unlike other target shooting
rides at theme parks this
is far more accurate and
has targets of different
values. This is a great new
attraction and is fun for all
ages, even big kids like me!
Hollywood Studios also has
two of my personal favorite
rides, the Tower of Terror
and Aerosmith Rock-n-Roll
rollercoaster.
Rates at time of print for The
