Hypnotherapy...Is it for you? The answer may surprise you. PDF Print E-mail
Image As Executive Director of the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy, Matthew Brownstein founded the Hypnotherapy school located in the Millhopper area of Gainesville after many years of exploring his own personal growth and well being. It is obvious that his search produced the results he had been seeking. In 1992, Matthew recalls a moment while pursuing his journey of personal growth and investigating many avenues of study, including healing modalities that would help to keep him on his path of growth and self-improvement. Matthew’s journey continued until while in fact, attending school for Acupuncture, he happened to experience a hypnotherapy session. That one session compounded his search and he realized that hypnotherapy fulfilled everything he was looking for as a means for personal transformation, both in his own life and the lives of others.

Practicing since 1997, Matthew has over 10,000 clinical practice hours, is a Clinical Certified Hypnotherapist, and a Certified Examiner and Instructor. In addition to his many spiritual and meditative studies, Matthew is the author of four books and over 60 CD’s (in association with Silent Light Publishers, Inc,) all of which are available at the School and online.

After ten years and a considerable investment, Matthew’s dream of opening a School for Hypnotherapy was realized in the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy. The school is the first Hypnotherapy school in Florida which is State Licensed and issues certified diplomas. The School is also certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners.

Upon entering the Center’s building there is a sense of calm and peacefulness, which is supported by Matthew and his Associates, and is expressed through their gentle, sincere demeanor, and apparent love and passion for their chosen field.

Apart from the school, Anahat Center holds Meditation and Life Mastery classes (which are free and held weekly on Wednesday evenings), with monthly Free Lectures on Hypnotherapy and becoming a hypnotherapist, and of course, there are private sessions of hypnotherapy available.

Matthew’s Associates (graduates of his school) have many varied backgrounds, some in healing and medical fields, others in foreign studies, but all of them have come together with a sole purpose, and that is to continue to teach others, and provide ways for clients to assist in learning how to transform their lives. Their primary focus relies on helping clients to retrain their mind, and therefore respond in more beneficial ways.

All of the Associates agree; it is very rewarding to see the results these methods produce.

All clients are provided with recordings of the hypnotic experiences which continue reinforcing the practices and training habits demonstrated during their sessions. The main goal is to teach clients to learn how to better, and empower themselves.

SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF HYPNOSIS ARE:
• Development and expression of awareness and intuition
• Increase self-confidence
• Relaxation
• Improved concentration
• Reduce conflict and stress
• Promote health and well-being
• Regain ability to sleep easily
• Discover negative mental patterns
• Freedom from hostility and rejection
• Program the mind with positive mental concept

Hypnotherapy is becoming more and more mainstream, and is being gradually integrated as a complimentary approach to traditional methods of care.

The Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy provides hands-on training covering all the basics of hypnotism and hypnotherapy, and offers many advanced techniques. Some of the areas covered in the professional training include multiple styles of hypnotism, self-hypnosis, suggestion therapy, intuitive hypnotherapy, stress management, inner child work, breath work, neuro-linguistic programming, guided imagery, life mastery, regressive hypnosis and supervised clinical practice on fellow students. The caring atmosphere honors the sensitive nature of the process. With the classroom hours amounting to a total of just 410, a typical student can become certified in as little as six months. Naturally, there is additional training and continuing education offered to those who wish to expand their qualifications.

Matthews Associates (graduates) plainly loved attending the school and stressed how little it felt like going to “school” (or work) but more like the opposite, and they greatly looked forward to the weekend classes. The graduates felt that it can truly be called life changing, and it not only met all their expectations, but exceeded them.

Matthew’s hope for the future is that his Associates will become teachers themselves, which will be attained by the completion of a three-year program, and one of his other goals is to open four more schools in Florida in the not too distant future.

If you are looking for a career that offers a lot of satisfaction and rewards, then you may want to look into becoming a Certified Hypnotherapist (checkout www.tfioh.com for details). Private sessions and free consultations are also available. If the Associates at Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy are any measure of people who are happy in their work, they are certainly that and more.
