OneStop to Health & Wellness in Alachua

by Trish Utter

It is frustrating when you feel terrible and call your doctor but the next appointment is ……..the following week! Now there is a solution to being seen right away with a visit to OneStop Medical and Urgent Care.

The new office smells like a new car, fresh paint and a beautiful nature-like atmosphere puts your mind at ease, even when you feel under the weather. You are treated with a bright smile from front desk receptionist, Madison Macarages who will check you in. Madison lives in Keystone Height and drives an hour to get to work…now that is dedication! Her compassion for our clients along with her excellent customer service and her love of her own family is part of the culture at OneStop.

This brand new facility is managed by Cheryl Perry and Rachel Westwood. They met years ago while working in the medical field and quickly became friends, sharing their passion for their profession. They have combined work experience of 30 years in a large medical organization. Both have a strong interest in combining patient-centered and employee-centered environments to have the best of both worlds.

Cheryl and Rachel and their team chose the City of Alachua for OneStop Medical and Urgent Care, as the City of Alachua offers great support from the Alachua Chamber and the Alachua Business League. The staff at OneStop love the fact that they can walk to Fiore’s Frosty Jack’s, El Toro, Main Street Pizza and many other restaurants close by for lunch, coffee or snacks.

“Our business neighbors, especially SouthBeach Tanning have been extremely helpful in showing us the ropes and letting us borrow items during construction. In addition, the community has been more than welcoming. The City of Alachua employees, Alachua Post Office, and residents are all excited to have this type of service in their community. We had a chance to meet numerous people at our Alachua Fall Festival booth, and feedback was so warm and genuine,” said Cheryl.

Rachel and Cheryl have a lot of empathy for their patients. They are busy moms and know what it’s like when you want to be seen by a provider in a hurry.

Rachel has four children, three boys, and a girl. Three of which are teenagers in high school and one just graduated from UF. The family lives in Jonesville just a short commute from the clinic. Rachel loves spending time with her family on her farm where they have several non-traditional animals including, a pet squirrel, pot-bellied pigs, turkeys, a donkey, several goats, a few dogs and cats, and pretty much any animal that gives them the ….puppy eyes!

Cheryl has two small children ages one and three and the family lives in Newberry, but have plans to move to the Alachua area soon. Cheryl and her husband like to go camping and their children are Disney fanatics, so they often break away for weekend trips. One of the things on Cheryl’s bucket list is to visit Australia.

The Medical Staff
The patient-centered providers and staff are dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care in an urgent care setting.

Doctor, Greg Westwood is the Medical Director at OneStop and has years of experience providing primary and urgent care in rural settings. Dr. Westwood did his medical residency at UF and is board certified in family medicine. Of course, he is a big Gator fan and when not watching a game he also enjoys working on his farm with his beehives, goats, pigs and his pet squirrel.

The practice has two Nurse Practitioners, Jennifer Jonas, and Katie LeVeen. Jennifer Jonas, APRN comes from a hospital occupational setting serving both hospital employees and contractual patients. Her and her family are residents of Alachua and excited to serve this community. Her husband is a cross-fit coach and the family enjoys living a healthy lifestyle.

Katie LeVeen, APRN is a Gainesville native, who recently moved back from Tallahassee. She has worked in an urgent care setting for several years and is thrilled to offer this care close to her hometown of Alachua. LeVeen is a busy mom with two young kids. Her husband is an Eptimologist and serves in the military.
Lindsay Minatree the on-site Radiology Technician has many years of x-ray experience and is excited to meet the wonderful patients in the good life community. She is also a busy mom and enjoys attending cheer competitions with her girls and BMX competitions with her boys.
