LifeSouth Appreciation Luncheon

LifeSouth threw its annual Media/Chairperson Appreciation Luncheon at their location on 13th Street in Gainesville. Each year they have a different theme. This year it was a Birthday Party. Every LifeSouth media and business partner is awarded a plaque to proudly display in their office along with a small gift. Good Life Community Magazine was proud to be included as a LifeSouth partner and has been a partner for many, many years. Lots of local businesses, schools, and churches took part in blood drives over the past year. And many of the local media donated advertising to the blood drives.

Some of the top blood drives were:

The University of Florida with 4,783 donations, making it the area’s overall leader, the second was Nationwide Insurance with 637, and third was Santa Fe College with 487.

Among the schools was, Buchholz High School who led with 212, the second was Gainesville High School with 160, and third was Bronson Middle School with 150 donations.

Among the churches was, Gainesville Christian Church & Hope Worldwide with 107, the second was Trinity Baptist Church with 92, and third was New Prospect Baptist Church with 80.

Among the local apartment complexes was, Madison on 20th with 83, second Huntington Lake Apartments with 73, and coming in third, The Polos with 66.

In Health Care, UF Health Shand’s Hospital with 394, second North Florida Regional with 187, and third was VAMC with 123.
