This time of year is when I really enjoy the beach because hardly anyone is there. I drive about an hour and a half to Ponte Vedra Beach, located just south of Jacksonville. Lots of unspoiled sand dunes and miles and miles of natural rugged beach for Daphne, my dog, and I to roam. This is a place where I can relax and reflect, and a place Daphne can chase seagulls, and splash in the water. You might laugh but I like to take my flask of hot tea… sorry but the English side of me will always come out…and a sandwich and enjoy a picnic while watching the waves. Of course, I also take a bag of dog biscuits for Daphne.

While over in the Jacksonville area, I also like to visit the Riverside Arts Market located under the shade of the bridge, which is open from 10am-3pm every Saturday. It is huge and a great place to pick up handmade gifts and fresh produce. Another gem of a place in Jacksonville is Sweet Theory Bakery, located on King Street. This is a vegan bakery. The small store is packed with beautiful and tasty donuts and cakes. My daughter and I often drive over at the weekend just for a donut …and we are not alone. There’s a line out the door and if you are not careful they will sell out of everything before you get there. It’s that good!

Locally, we have the Fall Festival in Alachua, Scarecrow Row and many charitable events and of course the ………Gators!!!!!! The Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville is a fun place to take in a holiday show and the City of Alachua has a wonderful Christmas Parade that Good Life is always in. Take time out with your family and check our Facebook page, Instagram and website for travel tips and events so you can enjoy the…Good Life!
