No Worries

Enter this secret garden through a doorway that has a sign hanging over head saying, ‘No Worries’ which sets the tone for your vacation. Go down a winding pathway, past the waterfall, past the intimate outdoor lounging areas, past two inviting pools and arrive at your room or suite. This does not feel like a hotel at all but more like one of those places you might get a peek of on a luxury travel show for the rich and famous. Crane’s Beach House is very private and secluded, a gem hidden from public view. No sign of cars or the outside hustle and bustle of everyday life. Only 27 guest rooms and well trained staff that will make you feel as if you are their only guest.
The property is named after its owners, Michael & Karen Crane. I asked them to tell me about their property, “We wanted to create a tropical oasis nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway in historic downtown Delray Beach for our guests to enjoy. It was important to us to feature two warm saline pools with cascading waterfalls and cool misters, a tiered garden deck for daily breakfast and meeting area for guests, hand-tiled fountains, and two original tiki hut bars and a large gathering hut handmade by the Seminole Indians and an outdoor living room for private functions.
Local artist Julie Feingold created all the murals on the walls inside and outside, inclusive of the “Underwater Dolphin” scene. Over the years we planted everything from mango and lime trees to bird of paradise flowers to jasmine and gardenia for a true magical scented tropical garden for all to enjoy! Some of our locals come to stroll through daily for some of the magic stress relief!
The hotel is located within a short walk to the beach and one block from trendy Atlantic Avenue where you can expect to see eye-popping exotic cars parked outside upscale boutiques and restaurants. I loved this street as the stores and restaurants were all unique.

On the beach side you will find a mango grove that you walk through to get to the beach. The view between the Mango trees and the sparkling blue water will take your breath away. The white powder sand, that is clean, adds to the Oasis feel. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for a small rental fee to help you relax on the wide stretch of beach.
The suite that we were in had terracotta floor tiles, tropical style furniture, beautiful high quality linens, kitchen, flat screen TV’s, but then who in their right mind would waste one minute in front of the TV when you have paradise at your door step! Oh, and ladies, there is tons of closet space!

“Our luxury beds are fitted with 100% ring-spun combed cotton sheets. We also place a feather bed on top of the original made-for-Crane’s Hotel mattresses for added comfort. We like to tell our guests, ‘If you can’t remember the last hotel you slept at then you haven’t stayed at Crane’s Beach House Hotel & Tiki Bar.’”
Throughout the property and even in your room you will see beautiful hand painted murals. There are lots of paintings of cranes and exotic foliage, very tastefully done. If you are an avid gardener you will be thrilled with the landscaping. Plants are labeled just like a botanic garden and in the evening the gardens are beautifully lit so you can find a secluded little spot for an evening tropical cocktail from the Tiki Bar.

Breakfast is included and served outside by one of the two pools under a huge Tiki hut. The whole place is tranquil and exquisite and like Michael and Karen said you will find locals sitting at the bar in the evening listening to reggae music. The staff was as quite as mice. We never saw or heard the chamber maids but our suite was always spotless. Somehow they seemed to know exactly when to do our suite.
Something I have come to love while on vacation is never driving and here you can park the car and forget it. Atlantic Avenue has a couple of golf cart companies that will pick you up for free! Just leave a tip.

Even your pampered pooch can enjoy this vacation. “We are incredibly dog friendly. All of our four legged guests enjoy a complimentary welcome gift upon arrival and the property features doggy water fountains. We provide a dog bowl and treats in all rooms with a list of area dog parks and dog friendly eateries. Delray Beach is a dog friendly destination as well”, said General Manager, Cathy Balestriere.

We found rates as low as $143.20 on Expedia. Pack your bags and vacation with “no worries” at Crane’s Beach House.
